Burberry Prorsum’s AW15 Collection was showcased during London Fashion Week in Kensington Gardens. Christopher Bailey’s new collection was a montage of a gorgeous autumnal hues with a folk edge. Visually mesmerising and warm, this classic collection was full the the brim with suede, fringing and cool indie prints.
Touches of pale pinks, crimson reds, khaki and deeper greens, this collection represents Burberry perfectly. The blanket wrap also makes a strong appearance although in a slightly different form compared to AW14. Instead of wool, these wraps/ponchos are made from suede with a touch of fringing that makes this collection stand out. The suede is very pleasing on the eye and adds a soft contrast compared to the brash prints. I adore this collection and feel that it will be a big hit in the world of fashion. The patch working adds a touch of 1970’s vintage glamour and I love this a lot.
But the highly anticipated garment of any Burberry Prorsum Showcase is the ever iconic Burberry trench coat. Each season it is altered to adjust to the collection, whether it be patchwork, suede, vivid colours or something different, Burberry always design the best trench coats. This seasons trench was represented with vivid autumnal prints and suede patches. I adore their trenches and I truly believe that they are a part of authentic British Heritage.
Quintessentially British this elegant collection also has an edgy feel. Thigh high suede boots flooded the runway. I can see these fabulous boots making many appearances during LFW, MFW, PFW and NYFW next season (September 2015).
If I had to choose three garments from this collection to feature in my capsule wardrobe for AW15, I would choose the thigh high boots, patch work suede poncho and fringed bag. I think these three items would see me through many years and remain as beautiful as they are today.
